Replaces the Goblin King and Goblins in Serpent Isle with their counterparts from the 1986 film, Labyrinth. Also adds a certain musical track to the game.

When Ideal Dragon was just starting to work on Ultima 8: Exult, the idea for this mod was suggested to him in one of his many Twitch streams; a viewer quipped that the Goblin King in Serpent Isle should be none other than the one, true Goblin King, David Bowie. (If you weren’t aware that Bowie portrayed the character of the Goblin King in the 1986 movie Labyrinth, you won’t get that joke.)

As such, this mod changes the goblins to look a bit more like the goblins in the movie, changes the goblin music to Magic Dance by David Bowie, and changes the Goblin King’s picture and sprites to look more like David Bowie’s Goblin King character. It should also be noted that the goblins differ in colour depending on whether they are male or female; male goblins in this mod have a brown/gold colour, while female goblins have a cream/grey colour.

Ideal Dragon’s fellow Ultima 8: Exult collaborator Stardrop assisted in planning and designing the mod, and Ideal Dragon actually created the sprite for the Goblin King live on a Twitch stream in late 2024. Gallara Dragon provided the music that the mod uses, and agentorangeguy (of The Ultima 6 Remake fame) helped write the usecode and provided guidance on how to modify Serpent Isle’s map as needed.
